Home Network Helps Find Reputable Contractors   

A contractor referral based service based out of Chicago has been expanding their network since starting out in 1998, helping out homeowners who don’t know of any reputable contractors.

To date, the Home Improvement Network has amassed over 350 contractors in the Chicagoland area, and has served over 25,000 suburban homeowners.

Pete Thomas, owner of the Home Improvement Network, said he personally evaluates all of the contractors that service the area. Each contractor is interviewed in person, their references are verified, and proof of insurance is obtained before any contractor can become a member of the service.

“There is a great deal of distrust between consumers and contractors,” says Pete. “A lot of it is simply lack of communication.”

Home Improvement Network staff talk with each of the homeowners so they can understand the scope of the project, then match them up with the right contractors for the job.

“Finding a good contractor doesn’t have to be a negative experience,” explains Pete. “Our job is to take the headache out of it.”
